The case of Evelyn Dick remains one of the most talked-about events in Canadian crime history. Born in Beamsville, Ont., police arrested her after local children found the torso of her estranged husband. Acquitted of that murder, she was re-arrested after the partly mummified body of a baby boy was found in her attic. Sentenced to 11 years, she disappeared from public life after her release in 1958.
